1. Baking Soda:
Baking soda is an excellent cleanser for the hair and scalp. It absorbs the residues, grease and dirt from the scalp and hair. To remove the toxins that collect on the hair by using hair styling products, mix one to two teaspoons of baking soda with your regular shampoo and wash your hair. Once a month wash your hair with the baking soda and shampoo mixture to detoxify your hair.
2. Apple Cider Vinegar:
Rinsing the hair with apple cider vinegar helps in removing pollutants and residues of chemical products that buildup on the hair and scalp. It helps in rejuvenating the hair follicles and restores the natural pH of the scalp. Mix apple cider vinegar with equal amount of water. Wash your hair with your regular shampoo.
Rinse your hair with diluted apple cider vinegar. Let the vinegar sit on your hair for a few minutes. Rinse off with plain water. Once a week use apple cider vinegar to detoxify your hair for best result.
3. Bentonite Clay:
Bentonite clay is one of the most powerful detoxification agents in nature. When applied to the hair, it draws out the residues from the hair shafts. Prepare a detox hair mask by blending ½-cup powdered bentonite clay, ½-cup aloe vera gel and ¼-cup apple cider vinegar. Coat your hair with the mixture.
Leave it on your hair for 20 to 25 minutes. Thoroughly rinse your hair to remove all traces of clay from your hair and scalp. For better result, rinse your hair with a cup of apple cider vinegar. Leave the vinegar on your hair for three minutes and then wash your hair with your regular shampoo.
4. Chamomile Tea:
Rinsing the hair with chamomile tea helps in removing the residues from the hair. Brew strong chamomile tea. Steep four to five bags of chamomile tea in half a gallon of boiling water. Allow the chamomile tea to cool. Add a teaspoon of dried rosemary to the tea and leave the mixture aside for an hour. Strain the tea.
After shampooing your hair, rinse your hair with chamomile tea. Let the chamomile tea sit on your hair for a few minutes. Rinse off with water.
5. Lemon:
Lemon is an excellent natural cleanser. Citric acid in lemon helps in getting rid of the toxic wastes and cleans the scalp and hair. To balance the acidity of lemon that may irritate the scalp, combine it with cucumber. Cucumber soothes the scalp and reduces scalp dryness and itchiness.
Peel a lemon and a cucumber and put them in a blender. Blend the lemon and cucumber till you get a smooth paste. Saturate your scalp and hair with the mixture. Let it sit on the hair for a few minutes. Rinse off the mixture with plain water.
