Try Any Of These Homemade Astringent Lotions Which Are Easy To Prepare And Are Suitable For All Skin Types:
1. Cornflower Astringent Lotion:
Take about 250 grams of distilled water and boil it. Then soak 100 grams of cornflower in the boiled water for 15 minutes. Then strain the mixture to remove the solid residue. Mix the solution with 1 teaspoon of witch hazel. Cornflower astringent is now ready to be used. Use a cotton ball and soak it in the lotion. Apply it on the affected area. Do this habitually for best results. Cornflower can smoothen and nourish your skin cells (1).
2. Nutmeg Astringent Lotion:
Obtain a tablespoon of honey, a tablespoon of nutmeg, half tablespoon of clove powder, 2 tablespoon of grated lemon peels, 4 tablespoon of brandy, 2 tablespoon of rose water, 2 tablespoon of orange water extract and 1/8 teaspoon of benzoin tincture. Combine all the ingredients and mix them thoroughly. Keep this astringent in a glass jar and use it after 7 days. Keep in refrigerator and you can use it for 2 months (2).
3. Sandalwood Astringent Lotion:
Take 8 tablespoon of sandalwood oil and mix it with 5 grams of sodium bicarbonate. Then add 2 teaspoon of almond oil, 4 tablespoon of rose water, 4 tablespoon of orange water extract and 1 tablespoon of honey to it. Mix them well. This astringent lotion can be used for months if kept under refrigeration. Apply sandalwood astringent on a regular routine for optimal outcomes (3).
4. Lemon Astringent Lotion:
Lemon is best known for its cleansing properties. Obtain 20 cl of orange flower water and add the juice extracted from 2 lemons to it. Allow the mixture to boil for 2 minutes and then switch off the flame. Add some more lemon juice to the solution. You can add the zest too. Let the mixture soak and rest for a whole day and filter the solution. Keep the solution in a sealed glass jar and store it in refrigerator. Use this astringent to clean your face twice a day (4).
5. Rose Astringent Lotion:
Take one and a half liters of distilled water and bring it to boil. Then soak about 500 grams of rose petals or roots in this water. Add half teaspoon of sodium benzoate to this mixture. Use a cotton ball and soak it in the rose astringent before applying on the affected skin. Follow this therapy continuously for effective results. It can tighten sagging and droopy skin. Plus, it can remove wrinkles as well (5).
6. Witch Hazel Astringent Lotion:
Add 2 tablespoon of witch hazel extract and 1 tablespoon of benzoin tincture in 1 cup of rose water. Mix them thoroughly. Rub this astringent on your face and neck at night before going to bed. This lotion can be used for a few months if kept under refrigeration. It can clear the black spots, pores and pimples present on your face (6).
