As you cannot avoid computer, there are some exercises meant for relieving strain to the eyes due to the computer screens. These exercises help in keeping your eyes healthy and in completing your work in the scheduled time.
Effective Ways To Get Rid Of Computer Eye Strain:
Palming
First, place yourself in a comfortable state. A little heat is generated in your palms by rubbing them with each other. Keep your palms in the shape of a cup and press them on your closed eyes. Left hand is kept on the left eye and the right one on the right eye. The warmth of your palms is allowed to be transferred to the eyes for a few minutes. Then, you should remove your hands.
Blinking
If you do not blink for a long time while working on a computer, it might result in eye dryness. So, it is very essential to blink while working on a computer, although one might forget about blinking while doing work. It is important to get trained in blinking while using a computer. The experts say that blinking once in every four minutes would keep your eyes healthy and lubricated.
Eye Rolling
Rolling your eyes is really a relaxation to your eyes especially when you are working on the computer for many hours. You can just divert yourself from your work and roll your eyes for a few seconds. First, close your eyes and then open them for rolling in the circular motion. You will feel relaxed as if you are receiving a massage to your eyes. Eye rolling helps in relaxing the muscles and in lubricating the eyes.
Visual Scanning
Divert your eyes from starring at the computer screen for many hours. You should adjust between the near vision and far vision one after the other in between your working hours. You can relax in your chair and sit back. You can have a look at the calendar or a poster distantly placed from you for some time. You can have a look at the entire room for some time in between your working hours. The outline of every single object inside the room far away from you can be looked at. You can begin with the DVD player and then with the television and then can see the window. This exercise is to deliberately keep your eyes in constant motion.
Focusing
It is important to stop focusing on the computer screen all the time and divert your focus on something else. This has to be done once in every one hour for a few seconds or a few minutes.
Glancing
First, close your eyes and then start glancing from bottom to the top as far as possible. You can also glance from right to the left as far as possible. Take a break and then look down. This exercise can be repeated for a few times and then a simple look around with your eyes will give relaxation to your eyes.
