9 Homemade Anti-Acne Face Masks

1. Honey and Cinnamon Mask

Ingredients:

Cinnamon Powder – 1 tsp
Honey – 2 tbsp

On the other hand, cinnamon has anti-microbial properties which help combat pimples effectively. To use this remedy, mix 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon with 2 tablespoons of honey and mix well to make a paste. Apply this face all over the face or directly on top of the acne. 2. Margosa, Basil And Aloe Vera Mask

Ingredients:

Aloe Vera Gel – 2 teaspoons
Holy Basil leaves – a handful
Indian Lilac / Margosa leaves – a handful

This mask is the perfect acne fighter as it is loaded with antibacterial, antifungal and antiseptic properties that prevent as well as heal acne. Not only this, it also leaves the skin feeling clearer and cleaner. To prepare this mask, grind a handful each of Indian lilac and basil leaves and then mix in Aloe vera gel. 3. Avocado And Honey Mask

Ingredients:

Avocado – 1
Honey – 1 tablespoon

When mixed with the amazing antibacterial properties of honey, it makes the perfect mask for getting rid of pesky acne by killing the bacterial and soothing the inflammation. To make this mask, scoop the flesh from one avocado and mash well. Then add in the honey and mix well before applying it all over the skin for at least 15-20 minutes. 4. Oatmeal And Cucumber Mask

Ingredients:

Cucumber – ½
Oatmeal – 2 tablespoons
Honey – 1 tablespoon
Lemon Juice – from ½ lemon

Oats works as a great exfoliant and absorbs excess sebum, which block the pores and causes acne. If required, you can even add some honey to boost the antibacterial properties of the mask. To prepare, add half a cucumber along with 2 tablespoons of oats and a tablespoon of honey into the blender. Add in juice extract from ½ lemon and mix well. 5. Turmeric, Honey And Milk Mask

Ingredients:

Turmeric Powder – 4 tablespoons
Raw Honey – 4 tablespoons
Milk – 1 tablespoon

Not only does it fights inflammation-causing bacteria but also removes excess oil that can lead to acne. However, keep in mind that this mask needs to be kept on the skin overnight and can leave stains on the clothes as well. To prepare this mask, mix all the above mentioned ingredients together in a small bowl and keep it in the refrigerator to chill for at least 20 minutes. Now take steam to open your pores and apply a washcloth soaked in hot water over the affected spot to allow the infected pus to come up to the surface. Now apply the mixture over the problem areas and massage gently in circular motion for 10 minutes. Now leave the mixture on the skin overnight and wash off in the morning using lukewarm water.

6. Apple Cider Vinegar And Baking Powder Mask

Ingredients:

Apple Cider Vinegar – 2 tablespoons
Baking Powder – 2 tablespoons

Apple cider vinegar is the perfect natural disinfectant and astringent, making it the ideal ingredient for anti-acne face mask. It contains numerous enzymes, minerals and vitamins along with wonderful anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties that are essential to avert acne. For preparing this anti-acne mask, mix equal amounts of baking powder and vinegar and make a smooth paste. Apply it all over the face or on the acne as spot-treatment for 20 minutes before rinsing off.

Activated Charcoal Powder – 1 teaspoon
Cumin seed oil – few drops
Lavender essential oil – few drops
Apple Cider Vinegar – few drops

Garlic – 2-3 cloves
Aloe Vera Gel – 1 tablespoon
