6 Herbal Remedies for Gas

Gas can cause pain, bloating and cramps  in the stomach. The herbal remedies have been found to be of great help. Mint or Peppermint

Use fresh mint leaves or the dried leaves, or you may take the peppermint oil, all will work wonders for arresting gas.  Mint is a strong herb, but very beneficial and side effects are  mild. So,  it is an absolutely safe herb to take.Make mint tea, drink a cup of it thrice a day. To make this tea take four or five twigs, boil them in two glasses of water for about 5 to 10 minutes. Let the lid remain closed so as to tap the goodness of its oil. Let it cool a bit,  add sugar or honey and sip a cup of this tea.

Ginger

Ginger is beneficial for all ailments of digestive tract, especially for bloating and gas. University of Maryland Center has hailed it as a useful herb for gas related disorders.You can make ginger tea by putting half a tsp of grated ginger to make two cups of tea. Boil it for 5 minutes, your tea is ready, add sugar or honey or even jaggery and sip half  a cup  after your meals to get rid of the troublesome gas of your intestines.

Fennel Seeds

Harvard Medical School has published its reports about the benefits of fennel. They say that chewing half a tsp of fennel seeds after every meal relieves the symptoms of gas.If you don’t want to eat seeds directly , there is another alternative, make their  tea and sip this flavored tea. For making a cup of tea, crush half a tsp of fennel seeds, boil them in the required water for about 5 minutes. Add the sweetener of your choice and drink it after a meal.

Carom Seeds

carom seeds are God’s special gift to rid the digestive system of the gas. It is very strong tasting, hence everybody can not chew the seeds. Rather easy way to take it is to make a decoction of 2tsp of these seeds in two glasses of water and drink a cup of this warm drink after every meal.

Cardamom

Cardamom seeds can be crushed and put in warm water, which can be taken two or three times a day to get help for bloating and gas.

Chamomile Tea

Chamomile tea is beneficial for the elimination of the gas trapped in the digestive tract. It is found good and safe even for babies. Make a fresh tea of chamomile and drink a cupful yourself and give a tsp to your one month old  baby. The older babies can be given more.
