Today’s world is full of stress, hypertension, anxiety, giving birth to a kind of mental disorder referred as Hysteria. Herbal Remedies For Hysteria
Rauwolfia
It is an excellent herb to treat hysteria. Intake of rauwolfia relaxes muscles and helps regain balance of mind and body. Take a cup of luke warm milk and add one gram of rauwolfia powder, drink this two times a day till a complete cure is obtained.
The best part of this herb is that it has no side effects and no chemicals; it is a natural tonic to mind.
Lettuce
Lettuce is a valuable remedy for hysteria. This is a relaxing and sedative herb that to induce sleep, and calm restlessness and anxiety. For the treatment of hysteria, take a cup of fresh lettuce juice and mix a teaspoon of Indian gooseberry juice.
Take this every morning empty stomach, continue this treatment for a month. This will cleanse the body of any toxins and relax muscles thus relieving stress and other complications causing hysteria.
Black Berry
The black berry (Jambul) is considered an effective herb for treatment of hysteria. Take a jug and fill it with black berries and soak with water, add a pinch of salt to it. Keep this jug in the sun for 6-7 days. Take 300 gms of black berries on an empty stomach, and drink a cup of water from the jug.
The day patient starts this treatment, another jug should be started keeping in sun, so that when the contents of the first jug are finished, the other one is ready for use. This treatment should be continued for two weeks.
Tansy
Tansy has been a very ancient herb and was most recommended for parasite patients. Tansy is also believed to alleviate the pain of migraine headaches and act as a stress buster. It contains a substance thujone which is powerful but toxic in large doses.
Therefore Nursing mothers and pregnant women should strictly not take this herb. Tansy tea can be made from fresh or dried leaves and is strong and bitter in taste. This herb is not advised for long usage.
Asafoetida
Asafoetida is a very common ingredient of Indian kitchen and a preferred choice of herbalists for treatment of various health diseases. For the treatment of hysteria, you can take 0.5-1.0 gm orally.
You can also make an emulsion of 2 gm of the gum with 120 ml of water, which is an effective enema in hysteria, when the patient resists taking the gum orally. Asafoetida is also known to have very relaxing properties, and is therefore highly recommended hysteria treatment.
