Useful Diet for Skin Disease Treatment

The skin disease treatment diet is a healthy and balanced diet. The skin is a delicate outer covering of the body which comes in direct contact with the environment. The pollutants, sun and the environmental conditions can play havoc with the skin. These outside factors coupled with the internal imbalances can trigger many unpleasant skin conditions.

The skin may have acne, dullness, blemishes and blackheads on one hand, while on the other it may be afflicted with troublesome diseases like eczema, edema, allergy, and oral thrush. It is worth mentioning that the skin diseases are one of the most difficult to treat completely. Diet can play an important role in treating the skin diseases and hasten the recovery.

Best Diet For Skin Disease Treatment

Fiber Rich Diet For Skin

Fibers play a major role in eliminating toxins from the system. If there are toxins in the body, their presence immediately shows itself on the skin. Effective removal of toxins helps to get rid of age spots, blackheads and blemishes. The cause of these skin conditions is accumulation of toxins in excess, and they easily find their way to the surface of the skin.

Whole grains are the best sources of fibers. Oatmeal, beans and most fruits have plenty of fiber. Instead of juice we should eat whole fruits, because the juices are devoid of fiber.

Protein Rich Diet For Skin

Proteins are an essential requirement of the skin. It is because of the proteins that the skin is elastic. The vegetarian sources of proteins are milk, cottage cheese, lentils and beans.

The best non vegetarian sources of proteins are the poultry and fish. Red meats have a lot of fat, which is harmful for heart.

Green Leafy Vegetables For Skin

Green leafy vegetables contain anti-oxidants. The free radicals present in the environment damage the skin. They clog the pores and deplete collagen, this effect of free radicals makes the skin look dull.

The leafy vegetables block the activity of these radicals. Spinach, the widely available leafy vegetable, contains abundance of vitamin C. The green leafy vegetables also contain vitamin A which helps in healing the skin cells.

Garlic For Skin

The antiviral, antibacterial and antifungal properties of garlic make it a strong contender to be included in the diet. The small cloves of garlic should be eaten whole and raw.

It should be swallowed in the morning on an empty stomach. Including chopped garlic in food is also beneficial, though not as much. Garlic is used in the treatment of eczema.

Berries For Skin

Various types of berries are also known to have vitamin C in plenty. Vitamin C hastens the recovery of diseased skin. The well known berries containing vitamin C are cranberries (karaunda), blueberries, strawberries, and gooseberries (amla).

Citrus Fruits For Skin

Common citrus fruits that have an abundance of vitamin C are all the citrus fruits like orange, grapefruits, lime and lemons.

Since vitamin C is neither produced by the body nor can be stored in the body, it becomes imperative to consume it regularly to treat the skin to wellness.
